Paulette McMillan is the co-founder of the Center for Health and Wellness, an integrated clinic offering clinical nutrition, acupuncture, Chinese herbal medicine and Ayurvedic medicine. She is a licensed practitioner in both nutrition and acupuncture. She received her master's degree in Human Nutrition and Functional Medicine from the University of Western States, Portland, OR. She completed 5 years of graduate level training in Acupuncture and Chinese herbal medicine at the Maryland Institute of Traditional Chinese Medicine in Bethesda, Maryland. She is board certified in Oriental medicine by the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine.

Paulette is Certified as a Diabetes Educator (CDE) . This is a specialized credential demonstrating an advanced knowledge of diabetes and training in how to help people with type 1 or 2 achieve their goals to better health. Goals may include controlling blood glucose, managing weight, preventing complications of diabetes, and achieving overall feelings of wellness.

To further her knowledge, she completed advanced training through the Institute for Functional Medicine and the International and American Association of Clinical Nutritionists. She was awarded the Certified Clinical Nutritionist (CCN) credential by the Clinical Nutrition Certification Board for her training in functional medicine.

Her interest in natural healing has led her to pursue knowledge in other areas as well. She has studied western herbal medicine through the School of Herbal Medicine in Washington and the Ayurvedic system of medicine through the Institute of Vedic Studies in New Mexico.

In addition to her practice, she served as the nutrition consultant on the Advisory Panel for the Newsletter, Better Health…for Better Living. As a past faculty member, Paulette developed and taught the western nutrition curriculum at the Maryland Institute of Traditional Chinese Medicine in Bethesda, MD. She has also worked for a NIH-funded research center implementing nutrition approaches to prevent high blood pressure and heart disease.

Nationally Board Certified in Acupuncture, Chinese Herbal Medicine, and Oriental Medicine by the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine(NCCAOM).

Don Diggs is the co-founder of the Center for Health and Wellness, an integrated center offering clinical nutrition, acupuncture, Chinese herbal medicine and Ayurvedic medicine.

Don practices Traditional Chinese Medicine including Acupuncture combined with Cupping Techniques, Electrical Stimulation and Chinese Herbal Medicine. He treats a wide variety of conditions which can be referenced in the Acupuncture section of this website.

Don is a graduate of the Maryland Institute of Traditional Chinese Medicine, a five year program in Acupuncture and Chinese Herbal Medicine. He has served as a participating practitioner-instructor for the University of Maryland School of Medicine Complementary Medicine Program.

Don is also a practitioner of Ayurvedic Medicine and is a professional practitioner member of the National Ayurvedic Medical Association. He completed the Ayurvedic Program for Health Professionals offered through the American Institute of Vedic Studies under the direction of Dr. David Frawley in 1993 ( - see practitioner resource guide). He studied advanced Ayurvedic pulse diagnosis under the direction of Dr. Vasant Lad, an internationally recognized Ayurvedic Physician and author. Don was recognized in the Washingtonian Magazine as a "noted Washington DC area Practitioner" of Ayurvedic Medicine in the article, "Can The New Medicine Heal you".
